Bishop Paul S. Morton
A few days ago news broke about the arrest of Pastor Craig Lamar Davis spreading HIV to women. In addition to Davis being presented as a pastor is cause enough for the scandal, however, what has elevated the situation are his claims to being a former Pastor within Bishop Paul Morton's, Full Gospel Baptist Church.

Bishop Paul Morton addressed the issue with three concise tweets on Wedensday, August 29, 2012. The first tweet saying, "Someone is putting out wrong information about Full Gospel. The man mentioned has never joined my church. He's not a pastor of Full Gospel."

 Davis was arrested on July 22 for reckless conduct. Two women pressed charges against him for infecting them with HIV. One of the victims, Ronita McAfee, told police officials that she had met Davis on Facebook and began communicating with him. The online relationship turned into a sexual relationship at his home and McAfee says a few months in to the affair, Davis revealed that one of his former girlfriends had tested positive for HIV. According to McAfee, Davis was not concerned and advised her that the virus would not kill her if she tested positive. He even suggested some drugs that she could take to avoid infection.



Reports say that McAfee became suspicious when Davis refused to take an HIV test and she discovered that they house they met was foreclosed. McAfee tested positive for the virus for said that she decided to report Davis. It was at the time of her filing McAfee discovered that there was another complaint from a an unidentified woman who reportedly held a leadership role at Davis’ church. The woman shared with McAfee that she was HIV-positive after being celibate for 15 years.
The woman also stated that she had been removed from the church when she confided in Bishop Steven Hall, who heads Full Gospel Baptist Church, about her situation and that that was when Pastor Davis was removed from the ministry as well.

Bishop Morton released another tweet regarding the woman complaining, thought it is unclear which woman he is referring to, "The lady complaining about had [an] affair with my executive assistant's husband. Now she says he's HIV. My assistant needs prayer she is suffering the most."
Lastly, Bishop Morton released a tweet saying, "I am praying for the gentleman trying to destroy my name and Full Gospel's name. Believe me, if it was a Full Gospel problem I would handle it."
