(Source: Joy105) Online Public Voting is now open for the 28th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards. Fans are only allowed to vote for one (1) artist in each category. Voting will end on October 15. There are only four (4) votes allowed per household. Those who wish to cast their vote should visit www.thestellarawards.com. Voting for the Stellar Gospel Music Radio Station of the Year will be September 17.
A press conference will be held to announce the final 2012 – 2013 Stellar Awards Nominees for each category once voting concludes. The Stellar Awards will be taped January 19, 2013, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn.
Many artists are on the ballot including Andrae CrouchDonald LawrenceJames Fortune,Dorinda Clark Cole and Fred HammondCharles Jenkins and Fellowship ChicagoJessica Reedy and Anita Wilson are among those on the ballot for New Artist of the Year.
There are several artists from the D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area on the ballot. Richard Smallwood (“Promises”) received nominations on the ballot, including Artist of the Year and Choir of the Year. Byron Cage (“Memoirs of a Worshipper”) appears on the ballot in 6 categories, including Artist of the Year and Praise and Worship CD of the Year. Those on the ballot for songwriting include Anthony Brown for Maurette Brown Clark‘s “I Hear the Sound (of Victory)” and Richard Smallwood for “Trust Me.” In addition to her other ballot nominations, Maurette Brown Clark was nominated for the Albertina Walker/Female Volcalist of the Year. Jason Nelson (“Shifting the Atmosphere”) is on the ballot in five categories including Male Vocalist of the Year.
Stephen Hurd is on the ballot for Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year and Praise and Worship CD of the Year (O That Men Would Worship) and Virgina-based GI received two ballot nominations (Contemporary Group/Duo of the Year and Group/Duo of the Year). Shai Linne made the ballot for Rap/Hip Hop Gospel CD of the Year (“The Attributes of God”).
