With so many way to connect with people through social media, the thought of adding yet another method can be overwhelming.  Pinterest is a social media tool that you can use fairly easily and it allows you to communicate with pictures on pinboards.

What does this mean for marketing for you as a ministry?  These pinboards allow you to post pictures from your events and your followers can repin them to their boards...this allows you to communicate your pictures with people from around the world.

Still questioning whether Pinterest is for you?  Here are a few ways to use Pinterst:

1. Post Pictures of you performing at an event.  Have someone snap a shot of you while you are ministering.  This isn't being vain, but it allows people to see the worship as it happens.  Write a short caption under the picture to explain what was happening.

2. Post Pictures of things that inspire you and your ministry. If you are a dancer, did you see a quote that inspired you? As a singer, do you have a favorite artist? If you are on stage, who is your favorite actor or playwright.  Pinning pictures is not just about you as a person, it is a way to communicate the things you love.

3. Get social!  Browse the pictures of those you are following and repin some of their pictures that make sense for your pinboard...this will bring in more traffic to your pinterest page.

4. Add a link back to your website.  Pinterest gives you the ability to load pictures by inserting a web link or by uploading a picture from your computer or device.  If you actually UPLOAD a picture to Pinterest, go back in and click the EdIT button on that particular picture.  Once you are in the editing area of the picture you will be able to add a link back to your website, blog post, etc.  This is beneficial in the fact that people will be directed back to your ministry site when they click on your picture.
