Jayceon Taylor, better known as “The Game,” recently spoke to Connecticut radio personality Jenny Boom Boom about his Christian faith inspiring him to create a new album titled, "Jesus Piece."   The 32-year-old rapper was baptized last year at Bishop Noel Jones' City of Refuge Church in Gardena, California.  He admitted that though he was baptized he has had difficulty letting go of his previous life.  Many can assume that his previous life is what he raps about in his music and it glorified gang life.

The rapper has been working on a Christian project.  "I'm calling it Jesus Piece," last year in August I got baptized and so I've been going to church, but I still been kinda doing me out here," the rapper told the radio personality. "I still love the strip club and I still smoke and drink. I'm faithful to my family, so I wanted to make an album where you could love God and be of God, but still get it poppin' in your life."

The Christian Post reported that while The Game opened up about being a Christian to Vibe magazine, the rapper admitted that he was not looking to put himself on a spiritual pedestal.  "I'm a Christian but I'm not 'holier than thou.' You can still have swag and be a Christian, you ain't gotta wear a suit to church, you ain't gotta take a bath in Holy water.  You can still have your Ciroc in the club, it's just a faith thing and making sure you try to do right. I'm still a father, I still smoke, I still rep Compton, I still might shoot dice or have a fight if I have to defend myself."

The rapper says his upcoming, Jesus Piece, project will give fans the opportunity see Christianity from a different perspective.  "Jesus Piece gives me an opportunity to speak about situations that people like me who love God but are still street and still wanna remain themselves without going the Pastor Mase route."

While many may enjoy The Game giving glory to God, it will be interesting to see how they feel about his philosophy on faith.
