Bangin' Baked Beans | Soul Food in Stilettos Kitchen

Jazz up that boring can of Baked Beans with this very simple recipe.  Special thanks to Stiletto Mommy, Tee Tunnell Harris for allowing me to film in her kitchen :-) Baked Beans are great with most meals. This dish was created for a family cook out and the taste was great with our grilled Turkey Burgers & Hot Dogs!!

Ingredients:
  • 1 Can of Baked Beans (We used Busch's Vegetarian Baked Beans)
  • 1/4 Cup Diced Onion
  • 1/4 Cup Diced Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon of Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar (We used Dark Brown Sugar but it doesn't matter)
  • 1 Tablespoon of Sweet Relish
Directions:Combine all ingredients into your pot and let simmer for approximately 20 minutes. For best taste, serve hot.

What do you need?

Dress up boring and mundane green beans with this recipe!

  • One (1) 4oz can of Mushrooms (You can also opt for half cup of fresh mushrooms)
  • Half Cup of sliced Sweet Onions
  • Seasoning (I use Mrs. Dash, but you can use the seasoning of your choice)
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine

Let's Get Cookin'!

  1. Melt 1 Tablespoon of butter or margarine in a skillet

  3. Remove mushrooms and onion from the skillet and put on the side
  4. Melt 1 Tablespoons of butter or margarine in your skillet
  5. Add Green beans to skillet try to get butter coated on as many green beans as possible.
  6. Add vinegar to green beans. Stir and mix vinegar into beans
  7. Add mushrooms and onion to green beans mix thoroughly.
  8. Cover
  9. Simmer for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally
  10. Serve hot...YUMMMYYYY!
